Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the business. Corcoran has participated in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, the biggest being a $350,000 investment which covered 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was second in the family of 10 children, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence was her mother, who was an errand-taker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved from job to job during Corcoran's childhood. Her family often relied on free food deliveries from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her fatheras a man who sometimes drank excessively, and behaved towards her mother in a manner that was disrespectful and condescendingly, especially after he'd had a few drinks. Corcoran struggled at school, and eventually discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. After failing several classes during her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
