Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is best known for her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. The series ended following its seventh season. Sedgwick is also remembered for her recurring character in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Her film credits include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are in addition to her numerous. Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick as a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has stated that she is a participant at Passover seders.
